Other Squilometres in the City
The Squilometre technique for the creative celebration of neighbourhood heritage was developed by the Creative Placemaking specialists - Interwoven Productions CIC. It started in early 2015 in Heavitree, Exeter and, since then, has run eight community-led projects including one Exeter City Council commission on Fore Street, Heavitree winning an Outstanding RHS Britain in Bloom Neighbourhood award.
Our communities decide what they'd like to see ....
street flags, roving performances, heritage plaques, community star-gazing events, an interpretation board, heritage surveys and trail-guides, inter-generational tea-parties, lantern parades, reminiscence events and street planting . In 2020 the Heavitree Squilometre project is celebrating Ladysmith Road.

In 2018 we were invited by the St Thomas community to join them in Wisteria Celebrations of Pinces Gardens and that was the beginning of the St Thomas Squilometre. Now, with the National Lottery Heritage Funding we're thrilled to be continuing that work with a project on Cowick Street in 2020.
From 2020 we are also looking to recruit a Place Champion for the brand new Burnthouse Lane Squilometre! If you think you know a candidate please do get in touch!
